How do you feel?
Really, how do you feel?
Not how do you think you feel, but actually observing your entire being.
The physical body, is there pain, soreness or stiffness? Is your body craving a workout or maybe a nice walk? What about your mind? Is it busy thinking about the things that you need to do or maybe full of what you had or had not done yesterday? Organs, when was the last time you thought about them one by one and paid attention to the way they feel? Do you need a good detox, maybe some bone broth or a 5 day fast? How about the bottom of the feet? Do you put your legs up and give them a break or are you walking around in uncomfortable shoes?
When we step out of our own way and take care of the vehicle that houses our soul, it can be the turning of the page to a completely different chapter or better yet, a different book! We get to choose how we feel, when we are aware that we are not the body but we need to care of it in order to live a heathy life.
I was in India back in 2018 and met with a Vedic Astrologer. I know, right, I was not exactly sure what a VA was but I was soon to find out. The man that I met with was in the village of Udaipur, at a store that sold leather bound journals. It was a quiet little store on the inside and lots going on outside, with all of the horns buzzing and all of the drivers speeding by. It was located at the top of the driveway and around the bend to the hotel that I was staying at. Once it was time for me to walk in.. I was open to whatever he had to say. And there it went, he told me about my stomach issues, about my love life, sicknesses and deaths, how old I would live to be.. yep. que the jaw drop.. He told me that if I honored what I fed my body I would live to be over 100! I loved this and it was NO shock to me that food would be the biggest blessing and challenge.
So for me, how I feel is one of the first things that I ask myself… upon waking, before ordering food and after eating. Taking into account what and who makes me feel alive and what makes me feel sluggish or even tired.
With the importance of knowing what the best feeling we can have feels like… Most of us do not realize how good we are made to feel. We can optimize our way of life including nutrition, our homes and the people we surround ourselves with. All of these things contribute to our over all well-being.
